Since I joined LJ 3.5 years ago, I've met some wonderful people here who grew so dear to me that I wouldn't want to miss them for the world. The way I see LJ, it's first and foremost a social thing, a place to meet friends, a safe haven to exchange ideas with interesting and likeminded people, and most of all a place where I can be myself and find solace. (I find myself thinking how appropriate my username is in that respect).

I mostly write about my everyday life, often accompanied by lots of pics, but most of the time I put those behind an lj cut. I don't often do memes and quizzes. Although I will occasionally give my opinion about the state of the world, long political rants are rare.

So, what makes me tick? I guess that you could say that after a series of more and less traumatic but in any case life-changing events I'm currently rediscovering, re-evaluating and reshaping my life and what's important to me. Sometimes the road stretches out quite clearly before me, sometimes I'm stumbling on in the dark. But an important lesson I've learned is that the road goes ever on and on, so who knows where it'll lead me?

For those of you who want the facts: I'm 31, Dutch, female, redhead (unfortunately not by nature), green eyes, 5'7", got an MA in English Language and Literature but ended up working as a secretary at a special needs school, I've got a broad range of interests which I'm not going into any further here because they're all listed below, I am divorced and currently single, happily living together with my cat, my views and opinions are fairly liberal but I always try to treat anyone who does not share my opinion with the utmost respect.
